Lisa Glatzer – Board Member Candidate
I joined North Jersey Masters after completing the beginners program in 2015. I was never a runner and did not expect for it to positively change my life how it has. Since then, I have run more than 100 races ranging in distance, including many half marathons and the 2021 NYC marathon with my ‘Sole Sisters’ who I am fortunate to have met from this club.
Since graduating from the beginners program, I volunteer regularly to support this program that made me fall in love with running. I also volunteer each year at the Ridgewood Runs to support the club and enjoy running this 5K with those graduating from our beginner program. Additionally, I am an active member of our Saturday social runs (when it doesn’t interfere with volunteering) and join the Sunday runs and Tuesday track workouts when my schedule allows. This past year, when I was out of work in 2023, I created the weekday 9am runs on Monday and Wednesday, which continues to grow! This past August, I also became a certified running coach, and I’m excited to explore new ways to support our club as a coach.
Running and North Jersey Masters have such an important part of my life and I am fortunate for the friendships I have gained. Running has helped me physically and mentally throughout the years during some very challenging times and I am incredibly grateful for this community.
Professionally, I have 20+ years of leadership experience in Account Management, Client Services, and Project Management. I bring a strategic business leader mindset with a strong technology background, and I look forward to leveraging these skills to support our club.
I am excited about the opportunity to join the board and continue to support and encourage all members. I love what North Jersey Masters does for our community and I am seeking a position on the board to help support the club and help it continue to thrive.
Thank you for your consideration!
Aaron Kleinbaum – Board Member Candidate
I am seeking another term on the North Jersey Masters Board. I have been a member of the Board for the last three years and have been a NJM member for 25 years. NJM has helped me achieve many of my road racing goals from one mile to the marathon. I enjoy helping others achieve their running goals, which is why I would like to serve on the NJM Board for another term.
My interest in running began as a freshman at Rutherford High School in 1968. I joined the winter and spring track team. During the winter season, we raced at the Jersey City Armory where I watched Marty Liquori, then a high school senior. Marty was on his way later that year to running under a 4-minute mile. I enjoyed the mile and two-mile races, which I thought were “long distance.” A few years later, in the early 1970s, I learned that “long distance” was much longer, 26 times longer!
I earned my first high school varsity points in the pole vault! I envied the high jumpers and pole vaulters because they were lounging around in the pits, while I was huffing and puffing around the track. So, I hung around the pole vault pit and tried it a few times. At the next meet I made it over the bar at the entry level of seven feet and earned a varsity point!
My college did not have a track team, but I kept up my running through NYC’s Riverside Park and Central Park and around the reservoir. After college graduation, I had a fellowship at University in Finland and visited the Helsinki stadium, where NJ’s own Horace Ashenfelter, won a gold medal during the 1952 Olympics in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
For several years in the early 2000s, I coached Rutherford’s youth/recreation track team. My two sons joined the recreational team and occasionally ran with me. The three of us, Ethan then age 17, Jake age 10 and I, raced and won NJM’s inaugural family division race at the 2005 Memorial Day Ridgewood Run. It was a special moment.
Since 2000, I have enjoyed track workouts and Sunday long runs with other NJM members. I would like to help others achieve their running goals. I am in the park almost every Sunday with NJM. I devote a few hours a week to supporting NJM’s USATF-NJ team. As the men’s team captain, I organize team registration and attend almost every USATF-NJ Championship race with the NJM canopy. I encourage all NJM runners to join the team . . . fast or slow!
Drew Krasny – Board Member Candidate
My name is Drew Krasny, and I am running for a position on the North Jersey Masters Board. I am passionate about running and community service and believe my skills and experience would make me a valuable addition to the board.
I took up running about seven years ago, and upon moving to northern Jersey nearly four years ago, I began looking for a new running club. After hearing wonderful things about the North Jersey Masters, I decided to try a weekend long run and joined the club shortly thereafter. This summer, I encouraged my wife and two children, Max and Sam, to join the club as well. The team has been welcoming and encouraging, making it an easy choice.
I currently serve as an elected member of the Haworth Board of Education and as the Chair of the Haworth Recreation Commission. In both roles, my primary focus is fostering growth, serving the community, and ensuring continued success. If elected to the North Jersey Masters Board, I am committed to bringing the same energy, working with my fellow board members to ensure the club’s long-term growth.
Professionally, I have twenty-five years of experience in media research and currently work at one of the world’s leading marketing research firms. I have extensive experience managing budgets, mentoring and managing staff, leading large client engagements, and collaborating across multiple teams. Some of my current clients include household names in the media and technology sectors, with whom I work to optimize consumer insights and drive growth.
I believe in collaboration and consensus-building among all stakeholders. I would appreciate your support if you think my background and experience align with your vision for the North Jersey Masters.
Luana Woods – Board Member Candidate
Hello, my name is Luana Woods, and I’ve been a proud member of North Jersey Masters since 2018, when I began my journey through the previously known as “Couch to 5K” beginners’ program. Over the years, I’ve grown from a novice runner into a dedicated athlete and volunteer. Running has become a passion that not only keeps me active but also connects me to a energetic community and the wonderful friendships built along the way.
I have had the pleasure of supporting the club in various capacities, from welcoming new members, volunteering at the Ridgewood Run and helping organize events to assisting with club initiatives like the marathon bus and the annual gala. I’ve seen firsthand how impactful and important these efforts are in promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
As a board member, I hope to bring my organizational skills and enthusiasm to further the club’s mission. I’m committed to supporting the growth of both new and experienced runners, enhancing our social events, and most importantly make sure that every member feels valued and encouraged the same way as I always did.
Beyond my involvement with North Jersey Masters, I’m a small business owner and community member. My husband and I have owned and operated Chestnut Deli & Catering in Ridgewood for the past 19 years. This has helped us build strong ties with the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce and other local businesses.
I’m also a proud mother of two boys—a college sophomore and a high school sophomore. Balancing business ownership and family life, I’ve always been deeply engaged in community activities and look forward to bringing this same energy and dedication to the club.
